… Canceled ABC soaps All My Children and One Life To Live have been given a second chanceperhaps by a mysterious twin brother who wears an eyepatchin the online space. ABC has sold the online rights to production company Prospect Park, which will extend the shows’ lives presumably by streaming them on the web. Do they really believe this will work? Is every housewife who watches these “stories” going to upgrade their 1996 Dell and sign up for high-speed internet just to find out whether so-and-so is really pregnant with so-and-so’s ghost baby?

Jason Ritter (pictured above) has signed a deal with NBC to stick around at the network for a bit longer. Ritter, who recently starred in the network’s garbage-time The Event, will reprise his recurring role in Parenthood as well as star in a new show from Parenthood producer Jason Katims. I guess this means those plans to try and save The Event on another network are dead. Please-oh-please let the new show be Sean Walker, Texas Ranger. [TV Line]

… MTV’s Jersey Shore may have developed a situation in not having a Situation. Days after Vinnie reportedly quit the show for good, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is now saying he may depart as well. Where ever will MTV ever find people to replace these fame-hungry, douche-y womanizing goons who get paid to party and live rent-free in exotic locales? [TMZ]

… The Roloffs, the familiar family of mixed stature at the center of TLC’s Little People, Big World, are returning to the network for four specials, the first of which will air in October. This (sort of) reverses the family’s decision to leave the reality TV spotlight behind them (they ended their series last year). [THR]
